Thanks to everyone for your overwhelming support of our walk!
What a wonderful day!
Registration is now officially closed, but we are still accepting donations.
We are very proud to have Jennifer Zizumbo, a mother of three who is battling breast cancer and works as a nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital, as this year’s Beverly Breast Cancer Walk spokesperson.
Thank you to Diego Martirena, of Maplewood Photography in Beverly, for putting together an amazing photograph exhibit of the Beverly Breast Cancer Walk committee! Diego's photos will be displayed all along the walk route this year. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at it all coming together. Thank you Diego for your wonderful work! https://youtu.be/7TOM9UDb62c
Over the past 17 years, the Beverly Breast Cancer Walk (BBCW) has raised more than $5 million to support Little Company of Mary Hospital’s award-winning Comprehensive Breast Health Center and impacted the lives of thousands of breast cancer survivors. With generous community support in 2016, the BBCW was able to sustain its funding of current breast health programming and continue deepening its impact with the establishment of a BBCW Crisis Fund to assist LCMH breast cancer patients with emergent financial needs within our community. Additionally, a portion of the 2016 event proceeds supported a “sister-walk” partnership with the international organization, People Helping People, bringing much-needed medical equipment, supplies and services to breast cancer patients in poverty-stricken El Salvador.
The 2017 Beverly Breast Cancer Walk continues our commitment to further serving the needs of breast cancer patients and survivors in the Chicago Southland. We look forward to again welcoming over 14,000 walkers on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017 for our 18th annual Walk. Continuing support to expand breast health programming, assisting those who may be in financial crisis during their treatment, and empowering survivors remain among our top funding priorities.
Walk to show your support – Walk for someone you know – Walk with someone you love – Just walk!
