Welcome to Margie's Personal Page
I remember December 11, 2003 like it was yesterday. I can remember what I saw, better than what I heard that morning. Once I was told I had breast cancer, the world went silent and I could only hear thoughts of fear and anxiety running aimlessly in my head. I am forever grateful that Marty and Karen were there to take in and process the medically important details.
Fast forward 15 years. The good, bad and ugly sent me on a trajectory that I would not trade for a single moment. For my family and friends that compassionately carried me through the darkest moments, I will forever love you. To the cancer patients I have met and the selfless women of the Breast Cancer Walk committee, you will forever be my "BREAST FRIENDS".
After much consideration and reflection, I have chosen to retire from the Walk committee after this year. With several other committee members that decided early on that the 20th Annual Walk would be their last for personal reasons, I chose to join them. With 14,000 walkers last year and having raised over the years just under $6 million, I chose to go out with good health and great memories. I will continue walking to support such a great cause in the future, however I won't be working the other 364 days to pull of such an incredible event.
So please join me for the 20th Annual Beverly Breast Cancer Walk at Ridge Park (96th & Longwood, Chicago) at 8am Sunday, May 12, 2019. This year we will be walking past the Sweeney house where you are welcome to continue your support with a coffee, water or mimosas!
With sincere thanks to all that have supported me the last 15 years,
Please join me for the 20th Annual Beverly Breast Cancer Walk at Ridge Park (96th & Longwood, Chicago) on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Together, we will continue to make a difference in the community to improve the lives of all of those affected by breast cancer.
