The OSF Beverly Breast Cancer Walk has been a tradition in the Beverly community for over 20 years. Started by a passionate, caring group of volunteers, the walk provides a way for our community to come together to support breast cancer treatment and services for patients, survivors and their families at OSF Little Company of Mary. This 3-mile walk takes place to “support the fighters, admire the survivors, honor the taken and never give up hope.”

Traditionally this walk has been held at Ridge Park on Mother’s Day. This year, because of the coronavirus pandemic, OSF HealthCare instead hosted a virtual walk on Sunday, May 10th. The virtual walk was a fun, interactive way to get up and move safely during the coronavirus pandemic while still honoring and supporting our friends, family and all those who have or are currently facing the fight against breast cancer.

On walk day, we cheered each other on through social media and our virtual walkers joined us by taking pictures and posting to the OSF Beverly Breast Cancer Virtual Walk Facebook page.

With everything going on, we recognize that the need for breast cancer services, treatment and support doesn’t stop - and neither does our commitment to supporting patients and their families during these critical times.

Proceeds from the walk continue to benefit the Cancer Center and the award-winning Comprehensive Breast Health Center here on campus at OSF HealthCare Little Company of Mary Medical Center to provide state-of-the-art treatment and services to breast cancer patients, survivors and their families. More specifically, the OSF BBCW will continue to sustain its funding of current breast health programming - deepening its impact with support of the BBCW Crisis Fund to assist our breast cancer patients with emergent financial needs through treatment in the Chicago Southland.

We thank you for your support of our first ever virtual OSF BBCW this past Mother’s Day and for your commitment to breast cancer patients, survivors and their families here at OSF Little Company of Mary. We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you. There is no doubt, we are “stronger together.”
